Follow up to my beautiful phone

Everybody digged my phone - well all the people who are dear to me, which are few at office.

One of them wanted to borrow. I told him what do I get in return - his iPod. Errr, I got exactly like his. And thus he is stumped.

One girlfriend adored it but its bulky. Yes, so what?? We don't carry them at our waist like kangaroos or we don't stuff in our pockets.

Another girlfriend, casually YMed her what she exchanged for.

Uuuhhhh??? Only she took bronze black.

Surprisingly, most people did not see this model on display. Like my favourite office mate, ET - well it is a designer phone. Duh!!

Jogging to the music

After a loonnng break, I started jogging after work. This was the second week and it felt good. No wonder the saying that music does your body good. I felt there was wings on my shoes. If that invisible man were there I won't mind going another round with him, but he goes in the morning.

Anyway, this week starts the Australian Open (tennis) and American Idol. Means more TV time and less for reading. In a way its good, keeps my mind away from work which is beginning to be a dread - and its only the 17th day of 2007. Not good at all.

My New Year resolution - sort of

I wore the same blouse which I wore for my exam. A lot of people complimented on it. And some even commented that my dressing has changed. YES!!

What a nice way to end a dreadful day.

Dress to kill

I have made a pact that I will dress to kill going to the office this new year – starting either Jan. 8 or 9. There are clothes I have purchased and baju kurung from rayas. The shoes I have bought in Switzerland (Bally) and those purchased during sales. Oh yes – I need to buy one that is like a mary janes – I so love the style. It is about time that I show them off and hopefully to attract some attractions (well, maybe just one but who knows). But the best part is, my fashion ‘guru’ is joining me in that godforsaken place I call my office.

And there is still two/three(?) days to go before the end of the year-end sale to buy that mary jane.

My colleague - how can I stay alive in DiGi without him

The first day into the office this week was so hectic. This morning we had a group meeting. Before our manager stepped out for another discussion, he wants us to reflect on year 2006 by listing our strenghts and weaknesses. By the end of one hour, and before he came back in we listed so many weaknesses. We had to put in some strengths but nothing we can scream about.

Later in the afternoon, I had to sort out with Reach Hong Kong about some information of new bearers. It was so embrassing because they received termination order from DiGi but I was not aware of it.

The structure is for any bearers to internation carriers using submarine cables, both myself and the colleague I was talking about in Deja Vu the Movie. Unfortunately that person did not follow the procedure and I had to find out from external parties. Anyway it was all settled.

The colleague from Deja Vu the Movie is a pain in the ass. He could not find the cabling for the bearer chosen, so I had to call back Reach Hong Kong to change the bearer.

On Sunday, I got a call from him. He was asking if I was in Berjaya Times Square for a treasure hunt. I told him no - I did not know anything about it.

That guy is so charming and yet so unaccessible. He does not even answer my phone calls. So now the main channel is using Yahoo Messenger (which I had a part of him signing up for this).

DiGi take DTAC to court

That was the headline in yesterday’s intranet. Uuuh – taking your own ‘sister’ to court??

Reading on – oh, the VOLLEYBALL court. That is one of my favourite sports but it’s so painful. Anyone, the team was made up of DiGi’s top people including our CEO, CMO, and some other mat salleh bosses. The DTAC team were not bad. The first two sets were quite close. The last set, we swept past them. And the game point was actually a gift – the empire awarded to DiGi.

Going on about sports, the Gunners are through to the Champions League knock-out round. Liverpool is there but we are facing off with them in the coming FA match. There will be no happy feeling since one of them has to go.

Deja Vu the movie

I had two most surprising and pleasant surprises within half an hour.

An officemate came by to drop my 'usual package' containing whatelse but books. Ever since I have been busy with my Masters, I am always scared to receive this books. I did sign up for bookrings and there is one already waiting for me (fortunately its a bookray but the rules are the same). Anyway it was granting one of my wish.

The second surprise when I received a phone call from one of my dearest colleague who would go to the far corners of the world to grant my wish (unfortunately his not available and I don't think I want to be with him all of my days). But I'm diverting as usual. He called up to say he got a premier ticket for Deja Vu at Sunway Pyramid. Sounds interesting but it is for tonight - and I have got two little people waiting for me.

The funny thing about the conversation was am I going with you. He was hesitant in his reply and he sort of, let me repeat he sort of say that it was a date. He such a klutz when it comes to words that I always tease him for that.

Actually now I feel like ditching the two little people and just head on to the cinema. Uuuuum - what a dilemma I'm in. See how it goes and update later.

A new DiGi mate

Yesterday, Taty YMed me asking where I take my breakfast. The location of my office is a bit isolated - we don't have the privilege of having a wide choice for food. She informed that she has accepted the offer and will be reporting in the new year. Yahoo!!

In addition, she asked something about the previous blog. I am so please that someone reads the blog even if I don't get much comment. THANK YOU Taty.

It's good to be needed

I have never felt so rejuneverated at work for a looong time.

The next few days, several of my colleagues will be on leave for at least a week - one on paternity leave and another for exams.

The whole morning stuck listening to our head, Karim give a sort of pick-me-up presentation for his staff. Our CEO came in briefly to talk about good management. Gave me time to study for my German class later at night (by the way, I scored with an A).

In the afternoon, one after the other those who are doing stuff for me will come to me updating me on this, asking for advise. By the time 5pm rolls by, I was completely wiped out. Thank god the exam was ok - I could not remember exactly the text but I think I did fairly well.

Today, was such a slow day. I thought it was well past four, but it is only 3:30. And I have an aerobic class later - yahoo. Its been a long while.

My Wednesday

Yesterday was something to write about.

Came into work a bit more than an hour late - thanks to my blood pressure, I sometimes feel dizzy especially during the monthly thing.

By 11:15 went out of the office to register mum's new Indonesian helper at Fomema in PKNS Shah Alam. Fortunately the parking at SACC mall was good - did not have to go round and round for traffic (the PKNS' parking is a nightmare). BUT the queue at both the post office and the Fomema office was terrible. To wrap it up, had to change the postal order because wrongly fill the page. Left the PKNS after one.

Then rushed to Macro to get mum's block of rump (part of the cow), eggs and some masking tape. Left before two to rush to my 2:45 doctor's appointment at Sunway Medical Center.

Simmered for while in the air conditioner before seeing the doctor. I brought my old 2002 medical report (which was not as detailed as this health screening). To my surprise my cholestrol level dropped from border line to 4.8 Woohoo - I must have done something good or else I lost too much weight.

Which brings me to my thyroid function - whatever that is. Need to read it up first before commenting. Both my GP and the doctor recommend that I go check it up to see if its good. Or else, my weight will be always feather weight (BMI 16.5).

After wrapping up, came back to the office before 4. Too lazy to take whole day leave because everything is so far from home. So just going to declare a half-day leave.

Imran was WOWed

Last Tuesday was a holiday for us Selangor. Marina (my sis) and the children came by for buka puasa.

The kids trooped upstairs for prayers with dad. The whole time, I could hear Imran saying 'cantiknye' (it's beautiful) and WOW to the new rooms (but it seems they did not see the new additions.

Their mum was frustrated because less than 3 hours of them bathing, they need to be wiped and changed into pajamas. They don't understand that the floor is dusty and should not be rolled on.

Anyway, it was a short visit. What with the electrician putting in a bigger fuse box to cope for all the new additions to the house (dad has gone all the way out for this).

Can't wait for everything to be in place. I have plans to buy a table for them to do their activities but last night, mum say she is giving the kids the existing coffee table. We shall be replacing the bookshelf (well sort off) and the coffee table. So I will be tagging along to survey for new bookshelves for the new room.
