Welcome 2011 - part 1

this was posted on Jan 1st, 2011 but the web host shows the year up to 2010. I guess I have to go move to that host provider that I have been eying for quite a while.

with a promise that it will be full of colors.

There is not much to say about 2010 but am sure glad that its over. It started with a health issue that carried on for months (me) and the latter half till the very last day (dad).

My new year started with me continuing tatting on a doily using my hand dyed thread. No photos now even though I was having a field day today.

Last Thursday, after dropping dad at the specialist hospital I went to Mr Yee's craft shop to pick up my ball winder. I have been busy dyeing threads since last weekend and only today made into a ball to ensure the ball winder works with the dyed threads.

These are all the colors I made last weekend. There are three more curing at the moment.

Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight

After the last Harry Potter book came out, Taty gave us the next best author to read. So from AcmaMall using the Merdeka 25% discount offer, I purchased the must-have trilogy of Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.

The book is so similar to the Lord of the Rings that I have to keep telling myself that there will be no Aragorn coming into the story. Go here for more write up of the book at BookCrossing.

The condition of the book after about three days reading it is very well read. Imran is fond of 'reading' the book. Plus there are many maps and pictures of dragons and other creatures.

The synopsis from Amazon:

Lifelong friends, they went their separate ways. Now they are together again, though each holds secrets from the others in his heart. They speak of a world shadowed with rumors of war. They speak of tales of strange monsters, creatures of myth, creatures of legend. They do not speak of their secrets. Not then. Not until a chance encounter with a beautiful, sorrowful woman, who bears a magical crystal staff, draws the companions deeper into the shadows, forever changing their lives and shaping the fate of the world.

No one expects them to be heroes.

This is the title that started the entire Dragonlance phenomenon.
