New year, new way of blogging

I had an issue with my service provider yesterday when I posted about my hand dyed threads.

After searching and looking at alternatives, I have returned to Blogger.

I hope this will be much affective for everyone since I know a lot of people have trouble leaving comments and me, to 'talk' to my readers.

Here is to a great year.

Welcome 2011 - part 1

this was posted on Jan 1st, 2011 but the web host shows the year up to 2010. I guess I have to go move to that host provider that I have been eying for quite a while.

with a promise that it will be full of colors.

There is not much to say about 2010 but am sure glad that its over. It started with a health issue that carried on for months (me) and the latter half till the very last day (dad).

My new year started with me continuing tatting on a doily using my hand dyed thread. No photos now even though I was having a field day today.

Last Thursday, after dropping dad at the specialist hospital I went to Mr Yee's craft shop to pick up my ball winder. I have been busy dyeing threads since last weekend and only today made into a ball to ensure the ball winder works with the dyed threads.

These are all the colors I made last weekend. There are three more curing at the moment.

Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight

After the last Harry Potter book came out, Taty gave us the next best author to read. So from AcmaMall using the Merdeka 25% discount offer, I purchased the must-have trilogy of Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.

The book is so similar to the Lord of the Rings that I have to keep telling myself that there will be no Aragorn coming into the story. Go here for more write up of the book at BookCrossing.

The condition of the book after about three days reading it is very well read. Imran is fond of 'reading' the book. Plus there are many maps and pictures of dragons and other creatures.

The synopsis from Amazon:

Lifelong friends, they went their separate ways. Now they are together again, though each holds secrets from the others in his heart. They speak of a world shadowed with rumors of war. They speak of tales of strange monsters, creatures of myth, creatures of legend. They do not speak of their secrets. Not then. Not until a chance encounter with a beautiful, sorrowful woman, who bears a magical crystal staff, draws the companions deeper into the shadows, forever changing their lives and shaping the fate of the world.

No one expects them to be heroes.

This is the title that started the entire Dragonlance phenomenon.

Seen Gwen Stephani in person - well almost

Went to the fully-packed house last night for her last leg of The Sweetest Escape Asia tour.

Taken from Malaysiakini which have a better write up:

'Good girl' Stefani wows Malaysia

All dolled up but barely showing any skin, US pop star Gwen Stefani made
true to her promise to be a "good girl" at a concert that wowed conservative
Malaysians.

Stefani covered her tight-fitting tops in jackets, and sported leotards
under her dresses and mini-skirts during the two-hour Kuala Lumpur leg of her
"Sweet Escape" tour late yesterday.

"I am practically Malaysian," Stefani told 10,000 screaming fans,
including Muslim mothers in traditional headdress toting their young daughters,
and members of a militant student group which had initially protested her
concert.

"I just want you to know I am very inspired tonight," she said. "You
are a very, very amazing audience."She said she has a special affinity for
Malaysia because her rocker husband Gavin Rossdale had relatives in Kuala
Lumpur. She then waved a miniature Malaysian flag, and said thank you in the
local language.

Just base on presentation ...

I had one of the best seminar since I started my Masters program on Aug 4. We were suppose to submit all our assignments and do presentation for our group work.

For the second course, organization communication the lecturer was new so we did not know what to expect. From last seminar's experience we nearly failed our group work assignment.

The first group had plenty of problem because the lecturer was asking too much and said that their hypotheses was wrong. I find it good because they did not copy elsewhere - but actually the findings (co-relation) was not done properly.

Anyway, I was paired with Nicole and we went second. Amran was the only one who asked questions during the presentation to show that he did not fully understand what is our study.

Towards the end, the lecturer asked us to polish the result. I was like - uuh, we want to submit the paper. I am not touching that again. Then she continued, I will help you in getting the study (paper) published. She pointed directly to Nicole saying that it will help since she is already lecturing.

I have been telling everyone (that matters) about this and everyone is like WOW!!
